What causes popping blackheads?

Blackheads occur when hair follicles in the skin become blocked.

Each follicle contains hair and an oil gland called sebum that helps keep the skin healthy and smooth.

Dead cells and excess fat accumulate in the follicle and lead to the formation of a pimple.

If the skin on the pimple is closed, it will cause whiteheads; if it is open, it will become popping blackheads due to exposure to air.

These popping blackheads are one of the most common skin problems that appear mainly on the nose, But they may also occur in other areas, such as the chest, neck, arms, shoulder, and back.

  • Some factors that can increase the possibility of acne and popping blackheads include:

    • Excessive production of fat by the body
    • Accumulation of bacteria on the skin
    • Stimulation of hair follicles due to accumulation of dead skin cells
    • Not removing dead skin cells with detergent or scrub
    • Hormonal changes that increase skin oil production
    • Hormonal changes due to age, menstruation or the use of birth control pills
    • Use of certain drugs, use of some drugs such as corticosteroids, lithium or androgens
    • Increase in bacteria on the skin
    • Eating foods containing artificial sugar
    • Not drinking enough water

Magic ways to escape

In this section, we have introduced some simple and inexpensive ways to prevent blackheads.

By doing these things, in addition to preventing these pimples, you can also prevent acne or excessive secretion of fat.

  • Wash your face at least twice a day.

This suggestion looks general, but washing and cleaning the skin regularly has a significant effect on preventing the accumulation of fat and pollution in its pores.

So, this method is one of the simple ways to prevent and even treat popping blackheads at home.

  • Using a detergent containing salicylic acid

Salicylic acid is an excellent ingredient for healing blackheads and whiteheads, and it completely clears the skin of two things:

    1. Dead cells and impurities left on the skin from the air or makeup
    2. Excess skin oil that has blocked pores

A cleanser containing salicylic acid daily can remove blackheads quickly and deeply cleanse the skin.

  • Regular use of exfoliators

Exfoliating the skin using a facial scrub deletes dead skin cells and prevents the creation of blackheads. Of course, choosing products that do not dry or irritate your skin is better.

.

    • Exfoliation of the skin with peels and scrubs containing alpha and beta hydroxy acids

Peeling can sometimes cause pimples or irritate pimples and cause inflammation and redness.

However, in the case of popping blackheads, this is the opposite, and using exfoliating creams can cause skin pores to empty in addition to treating blackheads.

Alpha hydroxy acids, like glycolic acid, and beta hydroxy acids, like salicylic acid, are used to exfoliate the skin and treat blackheads in peels, scrubs, or peel-off masks suitable for all skin types.

Toners and night creams are products that contain glycolic acid.

    • Use fat-free products

Facial cosmetics containing oil can cause acne and blackheads. Therefore, we suggest always using oil-free cosmetic products, lotions, and sunscreens.

    •  Nasal cleansing adhesives

Because most of the skin fat is collected in the nose area, popping blackheads are mostly seen on the skin of the nose than on other parts of the face.

An easy way to get rid of these pimples is to use nose cleaning tapes stuck on the nose; by removing them, the blackheads are also removed.

One thing that should be noted is that due to the opening and emptying of the pores, it is possible for them to be filled with new pimples, and to prevent this, you should use the mentioned skin care products.

Warning: Continuous use of nasal adhesives is not recommended.

This is because when removing the adhesive along with these materials, other materials, such as natural fats and hair follicles, may also be removed, which are beneficial for the skin.

The loss of these elements over time causes skin dryness and irritation.

  • Use of retinoids

Retinoids are one of the derivatives of vitamin A that speed up the process of cell division.

They effectively improve acne, prevent signs of ageing, and treat spots, freckles and other skin problems.

The performance of this substance for the quick treatment of popping blackheads is extraordinary.

Of course, it is forbidden to use it during pregnancy.

Retinoids are available in different concentrations and can sometimes cause serious side effects, including dryness, redness, sensitivity, and flaking.

Therefore, the use of this substance should be done under the supervision of a specialist doctor.

  • Use of products containing sulfur

Almost all anti-acne products contain sulfur. This ingredient has a mild effect on the skin and is suitable for topical treatment of pimples and acne.

In addition to reducing the skin’s sebum level, sulfur removes dead cells and cleans the skin’s pores.

Therefore, it is better to use sulfur products instead of salicylic acid products if you have sensitive skin.

  • Use of non-comedogenic products

Non-comedogenic is code for products that are oil-free and will not clog pores.

Non-comedogenic means that the product does not cause comedones or closed pores.

Suppose you do not use non-comedogenic cosmetic products due to the closing of your skin pores, in addition to the fact that proper cleansers, masks, and exfoliators will not be effective. In that case, you will also suffer from acne.

  • Never sleep with makeup on

After a long day, the most important thing your skin needs is to remove makeup and wash.

If you sleep with makeup on, popping blackheads and other types of acne will increase.

Even sleeping overnight with makeup containing non-comedogenic ingredients can clog pores. Additionally, not removing eye makeup can cause eye irritation or eye infection.
