Classic signs and symptoms of pregnancy

Some of these things that are observed in many pregnant women and can indicate pregnancy are listed below:

  • Delay in period

Delayed menstruation is one of the early pregnancy symptoms of women who try to get pregnant. It is better to get a baby check a week after your period is late or even better if you go to your doctor for a blood test

This sign cannot tell you you are pregnant if you have an irregular menstrual cycle.

  • Breast tissue sensitivity and mastitis

One of the prominent early pregnancy symptoms is breast tenderness and swelling.

These changes can include breast enlargement, visible veins and discoloration, breast discharge, and dark bumps around the nipple and are caused by increased hormone levels, blood flow, and fluid retention.

These changes prepare the breast for feeding the baby after birth. After a few weeks from the start of pregnancy, women’s bodies adapt to hormonal changes, and breast pain and sensitivity subside.

  • Nausea of pregnancy,

Cravings and desire for certain foods are other pregnancy symptoms.

Nausea with or without vomiting at any time of the day or night is also one of the causes of early pregnancy symptoms in the first month.

It should be noted that the unpleasant feeling of nausea and vomiting is not the same in all pregnant mothers, and in some women, it starts one to two months after pregnancy, and some never experience it.

While the exact cause of nausea is unknown, hormones are likely to cause it.

Nausea, aversion to food, and sensitivity to the smell of fried food are pregnancy symptoms and may remain until the end of this period.

However, fortunately, most women disappear after the 13th or 14th week of pregnancy.

Paying attention to a healthy diet and ensuring the fetus receives nutrients during this period is essential.

A common belief is that a pregnant woman should eat as much as two people. This is a wrong belief, and the best solution is to eat enough healthy food so that the fetus receives the nutrients it needs.

  • Spotting or bleeding

Light bleeding or spotting does not happen to all pregnant women. However, partial spotting may be one of the early pregnancy symptoms.

This bleeding, known as implantation bleeding, occurs when the fertilized egg reaches the uterine wall and attaches itself to it. It means about 10 to 14 days after fertilization.

  • Frequent urination

Increased and frequent urination is one of the pregnancy symptoms that often start around the sixth week of pregnancy.

An increase in the volume of urine following an increase in the volume and amount of blood during this period is the cause of frequent urination.

The kidneys excrete the excess water that reaches the bladder through urine.

  • tiredness

Having a feeling of extreme fatigue is also a prevalent pregnancy symptom during this period, especially in the first trimester, and may be repeated at the end of this period as well.

No one knows what causes tiredness and sleepiness in the first trimester of pregnancy.

However, the rapid and dramatic increase in progesterone hormone levels in early pregnancy may cause extreme fatigue in pregnant women.

  • muscle cramps

Cramps and muscle spasms, such as abdominal pain or cramping of leg muscles on one or both sides, are pregnancy symptoms.

During the first trimester, cramping is often due to natural changes caused by fetal growth and is described as a pulling sensation on one or both sides of the abdomen.

Although this symptom is not considered an early pregnancy diagnosis, it is seen in many pregnant women and is a normal part of pregnancy.

  • mood swings

Mood swings are one of the symptoms of pregnancy that can range from mild to severe.

This extreme change of emotions in pregnancy is completely normal, so try to maintain the stability of your personality in difficult and emotional situations with the strategies available to control your emotions.

Share your feelings with your wife, and if necessary, go to counseling to spend this time peacefully.

In addition, the primary temperature of your body, That is, the body’s temperature immediately when you wake up in the morning, may also be able to show the first clues of pregnancy.

Basal body temperature increases immediately after ovulation and remains at the same level until the next menstruation.

If you are charting your basal body temperature to determine when you are ovulating, a continued rise for more than two weeks may mean you are pregnant.

  •  Home pregnancy test

Early pregnancy symptoms are not exclusive to pregnancy. Some can indicate that you are sick or that your period is about to begin.

Being pregnant without experiencing any of these signs and symptoms is also possible.

However, if you have not had your period or noticed any of these pregnancy symptoms, it is better to have a baby check one week after the expected time to start your period. Do a baby check or a home pregnancy test.

  • Headache and back pain

Many women complain of frequent mild headaches or back pain in the early days of their pregnancy and consider it as early pregnancy symptoms.

Increased blood pressure due to hormonal changes is the leading cause of headaches in early pregnancy.

The following solutions are suggested to relieve headaches:

    • Adequate and regular rest and sleep
    • Participation in pregnancy yoga classes
    • Adequate and balanced nutrition
    • Warm compresses for eyes, nose, and forehead (in sinus headaches)
    • Shoulder and neck massage
    • Practicing correct posture

  • Varicose veins and bulging veins

As the uterus expands to make room for the growing fetus, pressure increases on the large vein that runs through the right side of the body.

A decrease in blood pressure in the leg causes varicose veins, a sign of pregnancy.

Some women experience varicose veins in their genital area and worse in the form of “hemorrhoids” or breasts.

  • Nasal congestion from other early pregnancy symptoms

Sinus congestion also occurs in early pregnancy. The estrogen level increase causes sinus tract swelling and more phlegm production.

If you suspect the possibility of pregnancy and experience pregnancy symptoms, you should consult a doctor before taking medication for this problem.

  • The taste of iron in pregnancy

One of the early pregnancy symptoms that many women experience in the first weeks is changes in taste receptors.

Some compare it to the taste of iron, while others consider it sour.

This problem caused by hormones such as estrogen is not dangerous and is resolved after the first trimester of pregnancy.

  • Constipation, one of the most common early pregnancy symptoms

During pregnancy, increased blood progesterone levels cause constipation. Progesterone reduces bowel movements, and food digestion is slower.

Constipation makes food not pass through the intestines quickly. To solve this problem, drink lots of water, exercise, and eat high-fiber foods.

You should consult your doctor before taking any medicine.

  • Nosebleeds or bleeding gums, among other early pregnancy symptoms

Hormonal changes during pregnancy cause the gums to become sensitive, swollen, and bleeding. As a result, your gums may bleed while brushing or flossing.

Also, blood vessels in the nose expand during pregnancy, increasing the possibility of nosebleeds. These are considered early pregnancy symptoms.

Another early pregnancy symptom is seeing real dreams. Hormonal changes in pregnancy can lead to dreams close to reality and nightmares.

According to a report published in the journal Sleep Medicine, 43.5% of pregnant women experience real dreams during their pregnancy.

Conclusion

The time when each woman notices the symptoms of pregnancy can be completely different. Because the pregnancy conditions are unique for each woman, even a mother does not have the same conditions in two pregnancies.

In most people, the early pregnancy symptoms are usually not fully evident until after taking a pregnancy test or missing a period. Moreover, they are confused with the symptoms of the approaching period.

It is better to wait for a while to calm down. Moreover, do a blood or home pregnancy test after your period is delayed.
